ISO 846 - Plastics Evaluation of the action of microorganisms microbiology testing lab

This is an internationally recognized test method for evaluating the antibacterial activity of treated plastic materials.

The surface of plastic test pieces placed onto the surface of an agar plate are seeded with test microorganism ( Pseudomonas aeruginosa or other bacteria or fungi )and then additionally covered with a layer of inoculated molten agar. After incubation, the plates are monitored till 4 weeks and examined for bacterial growth or fungal growth. Test microorganism must use the plastic as their food source to grow themselves.

ISO 846 Sample Requirements:
50 mm x 50 mm squares. Six to 12 pieces per organism.
ISO 846 Turn Around Time: 4 to 5 weeks
