2. General or broad-spectrum efficacy claims.
Label claims of effectiveness as a "general disinfectant" - effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms -effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
3. Hospital or medical environment efficacy claims.
Label claims for use of disinfectants in Hospital or medical environments-effective for general or broad-spectrum disinfection and additionally against the nosocomial bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
4. Other microorganisms. Substantiated label claims of effectiveness of a disinfectant against specific microorganisms other than the designated test microorganism(s) , provided that the target organism is likely to be present in or on the recommended use areas and surfaces and thus may present a potential problem.
Sample Requirements
For 3 organisms, 60 carriers each, 3 lots, sample volume of three plus liters is required.
Confirmatory: 10 carriers, two different lots- 100 ml plus per lot
Fungicidal Activity Tests To determine fungicidal efficacy of a product, tested against Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
Sample Requirements:Two lots of the product are tested against 10 replicates(carriers) each.
500 ml per lot are required.
